The easiest to do for me is to Play....but seriously #1 of setting a goal is very easy for me. I think that anyone who is goal oriented sets goals for many different things. It is easy to set a goal for what you want to learn. If you are good at setting goals then you can create be realistic, do-able goals that are specific to fit your needs. I think that my 20 + years of coaching have taught me to help others set goals and it one of best strengths as a coach.
Now on to the not so fun stuff. # 3 View problems as challenges. I thin kit human nature to wine and complain about how unfair your life is and this gets even worse if some huge problem is throw in your lab. Now I do admit that I can calm down and take on problems, but is not easy to "SHIFT YOUR PARADIGM" and accept the problem and own-up to finding a solution.
I guess even my answer hints at my difficulty with the challenge part.
Oh well I will "get her done!"
On a side note. While looking for the 7.5 habits I could not find it (A challenge!) and while searching in vain I saw another Voice thread about a device for a Wii-mote. It was very cool and I will use that with my class.
Later...
Hey MyBrainHurts have to agree with you on Play and Goal setting both come natural or should come natural to people in education.
ReplyDeleteBut as a coach, I can't beleive you are not always solving/overcoming problems but I realize the context can make all the difference. Good day.
I envy those who can set goals and keep them! The more goals I set, the more I procrastinate! I always think, "I have a lot of time, so I will do this first!" A good example of this is finishing this class during this last weekend before it is due! For some reason, I work well under pressure.
